The number in the "No. overall" column refers to the episode's number within the overall series, whereas the number in the "No. in season" column refers to the episode's number within this particular season. "U.S. viewers in millions" refers to the number of Americans in millions who watched the episodes live. Each episode of this season is named after a song.[2]

Grey's Anatomy was renewed for a tenth season on May 10, 2013.[26] This season is to include the 200th episode of the series, the fourth episode to air, "Puttin' on the Ritz".[27] This season was also split into 2 batches of episodes, each batch consisting of 12 uninterrupted episodes (excluding holidays). The mid-season premiere aired on February 27, 2014.[28]

The Loop also acknowledged the return to form giving a positive review, "After a shaky start to its tenth season, Grey's Anatomy has picked up the pace over the past 2 episodes and is once again showing a great deal of promise that it can revive itself after nearly a decade on the air."[96]

The tenth season of Grey's Anatomy premiered September 26, 2013 with a two-hour premiere and ended on May 15, 2014. It was broadcast on Thursday nights at 9 PM on ABC. The season consists of 24 episodes which aired in 2 uninterrupted blocks of 12 episodes each.

OK, watching all the Grey's actors try and sing while still remaining dramatic and serious was a little bit hilarious, but watching Callie and her prematurely-born baby fight for their lives after that brutal car crash was so NOT. Thankfully both Callie and Sofia pulled through, but due to her injuries, Callie will never be able to get pregnant again. Will surrogacy be the answer to her problems in season 11?

Season 10 opened with a freak storm that inundated the hospital and ended with an explosion at a nearby shopping mall. In between we saw many deaths, some breakups, a wedding, and the departure of one of the show's most popular characters. Season 10 also contained the highest number of series regulars in the show's history, with 15 main cast members credited in all 24 episodes. That's a lot of stuff to keep track of. (Mercifully, the main cast is down to 13 for season 11 with the subtractions of Tessa Ferrer, Gaius Charles, and Sandra Oh, and the addition of Caterina Scorsone.)

Meredith Grey had quite the year juggling her demanding job as a surgeon with her research into portal veins, raising two children, being a wife, and clashing with her best friend. She spent much of the season fighting with Cristina, as their lives moved in very different directions (with Cristina more focused on her career and Meredith more on family); thankfully, she and her "person" patched things up at April's wedding. Meanwhile, Derek's youngest sister Amelia arrived in town when she freaked out after her boyfriend James proposed to her. She ended up liking Seattle so much she broke off her engagement, made her move permanent, and took an official job at Grey Sloan Memorial.

"GREY'S ANATOMY" TO CONTINUE AIRING SUNDAYS AT 10:00 P.M. ON THE ABC TELEVISION NETWORK "Boston Legal" Will Return for the 2005-06 Season with 27 Original Episodes The ABC Television Network announced today that "Grey's Anatomy" will continue airing Sundays at 10:00 p.m., ET, through the end of the season, with "Boston Legal" scheduled to return for 2005-06 with 27 original episodes, which will include the episodes not aired this season."We're in the enviable position of having two shows that have each performed extremely well for us Sundays at 10:00 - 'Boston Legal and 'Grey's Anatomy.' We had already picked up 'Boston Legal' for next year based on its stellar run thus far this season. Now, with the strong debut of 'Grey's Anatomy,' we are very optimistic about having an additional asset of tremendous value heading into Fall," said Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment. "However, with this embarrassment of riches comes a tough decision. Ultimately we decided that, without having adequate lead time or marketing dollars to devote to moving either show so late in the season, we'd continue to let 'Grey's' build on its tremendous momentum through May. We're extremely excited that this will give us the amazing luxury of bringing 'Boston Legal' back next season with an unheard-of 27 original episodes."Season to date, since its March 27 premiere, "Grey's Anatomy" is a dominant No. 1 in its time period, overshadowing its closest competition by 6.7 million viewers (17.0 million vs. 10.3 million - NBC) and beating the combined delivery of CBS and NBC in the time slot by 32% among Adults 18-49 (7.4/18 vs. 5.6/14=CBS and NBC combined). "Grey's Anatomy" is delivering ABC's best retention yet in the time period coming out "Desperate Housewives." The show qualifies as the highest ranking midseason TV program and also has the distinction as the only drama this television season (returning and new) to build its audience from Week 1 to Week 2. In addition, "Grey's" is producing ABC's strongest series ratings among young adults in the hour since "The Practice" during the 2000-01 TV Season."Grey's Anatomy" stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey, Patrick Dempsey as Derek Shepherd, Sandra Oh as Cristina Yang, Isaiah Washington as Preston Burke, Katherine Heigl as Isobel "Izzie" Stevens, Justin Chambers as Alex Karev, T.R. Knight as George O'Malley, Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey and James Pickens, Jr. as Richard Webber.Shonda Rhimes ("Introducing Dorothy Dandridge") is creator and executive producer. Mark Gordon ("Saving Private Ryan"), Betsy Beers ("200 Cigarettes") and Jim Parriott ("The American Embassy") are executive producers. Peter Horton is co-executive producer. "Grey's Anatomy" is a Touchstone Television Production.

The first season of "Grey's Anatomy" might've been brief, clocking in at just eight episodes, but Season 2, which spans a whopping 27 episodes and contains plenty of drama throughout, more than makes up for that fact. And while the second half of the Season 2 finale, "Losing My Religion," is often touted by fans as one of the season's very best episodes, the first half, "Deterioration of the Fight or Flight Response," sets up every domino perfectly for the following episode.

There's no denying that keeping a show's momentum going across seemingly countless seasons and episodes can be a huge challenge, but the team behind "Grey's" proved that they could still shock and surprise audiences well into the series' fifteenth season. In the gripping, difficult episode "Silent All These Years," resident Jo Wilson and cardio chief Dr. Teddy Altman are confronted with a traumatized patient who, despite initially denying it, eventually admits that she was sexually assaulted at a bar the night before. Afraid to tell her husband or be around any men, the patient clings to Jo and Teddy, who tenderly walk her through a process that can put her on a path to justice and help her heal. Amidst all of this, the episode shows flashbacks to Jo's recent trip to Pittsburgh, where she meets the birth mother who abandoned her and learns that she is actually the product of her mother's sexual assault. 2ff7e9595c
